Think natural make-up is a bit iffy? It’s time to throw that misconception out the window. Last week I had the pleasure of having my make-up done with Couleur Caramel – a relatively new, fabulous French natural make-up brand. And then the next day discovered new products by Green People at eco-beauty shop, SoOrganic, all of which made me go mmmm.
Everything I saw used high quality natural ingredients like organic beeswax, jojoba oil and shea butter in place of mineral oils (i.e. petrochemicals) and synthetic ingredients that may clog skin and cause irritation.
The new HydraCotton Foundation by Couleur Caramel is super moisturising on skin and would be great for sensitive skins. They call it ‘treatment make-up’ because it’s so kind on skin with antioxidants and essential fatty acids that have moisturising and anti-inflammatory properties.
Mix it with the White Base – a brilliant primer – and you’ve got instantly brighter skin that people actually notice and comment on. Make-up artist Angela Davis-Deacon who specialises in green beauty says she always mixes foundations with that base for a luminous glow.
To cover imperfections, you must try Green People Concealer – the perfect sticky, dense texture you need from a concealer stick. And their compact foundations are great too – flat without the sheeny bits you get with mineral make-up.
I discovered the Green People products after noticing how pristine the make-up on SoOrganic founder, Sam Burlton looked – she was wearing the Green People foundation. Do check out the SoOrganic shop and spa treatment rooms if you’re in lovely Greenwich or shop online - www.soorganic.com – they have the best eco-beauty.
So that was my week of discovering fab new natural make-up. I also have Dr. Hauschka eyeshadows arriving this week so watch this space.
