I was at the beautiful Limewood House hotel in New Forest a few weeks ago and then embarked on an amazing trip to Kosovo with a women’s charity. Before I tell you about both of those let me reveal the wonderful beauty products that proved their power in Spain this week. If you’re off on holiday soon, take note!
The sunscreen…Korres Yoghurt Face Sunscreen Cream SFP50…rich, moisturising, glow-giving and not a white lightening streak in sight. This smooth talker didn’t leave my sight, it fitted perfectly into any small day bag and it didn’t clog or change the colour of my skin. I couldn’t fault it if I tried.
The after-sun gel…Lavera Organic After Sun Gel…this aloe vera juice based gel is non-sticky and quick drying. It also doubled up as a soothing, anti-itch remedy for mosquito bites during the day and night.
The skin nourisher… Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil… slathered on at the end of each day to replenish skin after 32 degrees heat. The fruit and seed oils, rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids make this clean, wholesome skin food.
The shower gel…Bamford Geranium Body Wash…take a good showering product to revive you when hot and sweaty, which is why I loved using this Bamford product – the uplifting essential oils in the geranium range are unbeatable. Take a mini version (full sizes are available) and use with a loofah so there’s no need to take an extra scrubbing product.
The end of day moisturiser – Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins. Available from next month (August), this cream was a dream to use after sun-soaked days. The oil-free version was light and gel-like and soaked into skin effortlessly and smoothly.
The hair protector…Aveda Sun Care Protective Hair Veil…I misted this over my hair before going into the sun or the pool (an occasional dip here and there). Although it could smell better, it makes hair bounce up in waves which is always nice.
The shampoo…Ojon Colour Sustain – this shampoo is really really worth investing in. Extremely moisturising, making it great for dry as well as coloured hair and leaves hair shiny, shiny, shiny! The perfect way to treat tresses on holiday or at home. It’s my number one favourite shampoo. I also use the conditioning cream – perfect for perking up dry hair and last for ages too.
What have I missed? Got anything you love or can’t go on holiday without? Let me know!
