Hi, I’m Yanar and this is my collection of health, beauty, wellness, ethical living, fitness and food inspirations. I launched this blog about ten years ago when sustainability and ethical living were just niche interests. Now, thankfully, many more people seem to care.
I’ve spent over a decade as a freelancer writing about beauty, wellness, health and fitness for national press, and having always come across brands and people doing good things, this was my non-work outlet for sharing those stories.
Now I’m a content editor at Women’s Health, Runner’s World, Men’s Health and Netdoctor at Hearst and still keen to champion brands and products that tread more carefully on people and planet. A life-long vegetarian (since I was nine) and vegan for 12 years (long before it was a trend!), you can hit me up for any chat or advice on plant-based diets and vegan living. I’m also a fourth-year running judge on the Free-From Skincare Awards.
Fitness is another huge passion of mine. I’ve ran six marathons (including one on Snowdonia) and for the last four years I’ve been training in CrossFit. More recently I’ve switched running marathons to competing in Olympic lifting, which has helped me build a stronger body and mind – you can read about my fitness journey on Metro.co.uk and Women’s Health. I’m also qualified in Level 1 British Weightlifting and currently training for Level 3 personal trainer qualification with No.1 Fitness.
If I’m not working out, working, cooking or eating, you’ll find me rifling through secondhand stores or eBay in search for a vintage gem ✨.
Thanks and enjoy xx
