On the beauty desk this week…Connock London Wonder Balm

Connock London Wonder Balm

‘…you love balms don’t you…,’ a friend quips as she sees me eyeing up my new Connock London Wonder Balm. Yep, I certainly do. There’s usually at least three or four pots of balm at any one time around my desk with a few dotted around the bathroom and definitely one in every handbag. They’re wondrous products – usually 100% natural – and can soothe lips, hands and corners of the eye when the wind blows hard. I can’t recommend them enough.

This one is from new beauty brand Connock London. Stylish and small and described in my Twitter conversations as by @KennethSoh as: ‘silent dignified luxury’ – I obviously couldn’t have said it better myself.

The ingredients: Cocoa seed butter, caprylic/capric Triglyceride (an oil mixture derived from coconut oil used as emollient to prevent water loss from skin), beeswax extract, aleurites moluccana (Kukui nut oil), coconut oil, mango seed butter, vitamin E and gardenia tahitensis flower extract (from tiare flower).

Kukui nut oil (also known as candlenut) is high in fatty acids which are essential for good skin health. Apparently the oil is used in a lot of products targeting skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema. Also used in Indonesian and Malaysian cooking and health remedies mainly in SE Asia and Hawaii.

The brand is British and made with thoughtful ingredients. Packaging stylish and would make a perfect gift. In fact the soap set is particularly pretty with a heavenly smell. This is definitely the next big beauty brand to be seen at stylish hotels…what do you think?
