Allplants vegan meals have been a staple in my freezer since the start of lockdown so it’s about time I shared the love. They are super tasty, nutritious, plant based and natural. You can read what I think about them or simply scroll down for my referral link and discount code. Let me know if you give it a go!

I reviewed allplants many years ago when I was writing for Healthista.com. Back then it was rare to find vegan, tasty and healthy frozen meals so it was a real novelty.

Then at the start of lockdown the thought of cooking three meals a day, until who knew when, seemed like a challenge I wasn’t up for. So I remembered allplants existed and haven’t looked back.

The huge menu is IMO the best bit – over 100 dishes including noodle and rice dishes, bowls, pies, breakfast pots, side dishes and desserts. They’ve proven that frozen meals can be high quality, interesting and healthy. They’ve also help making vegan eating a cinch. I buy the two person boxes, use half for an office lunch on days when I don’t want to prep anything, and save the rest for dinner.

Two and a half years on, having a stash of ready-made tasty meals is still the ideal compromise. I love cooking but I also love the ease for days when I don’t want to cook.

The choice is a winning point – although I usually end up with my regular faves, I try to add a few new ones too. Smokey Soul Chilli, Chilli Tofu and Edamame Rice, Spanakopita pie, and Creamy Spinach Gnocchi are all favourites. One thing I often miss as a vegan (for the last 18 years now) is creamy flavours. Allplants does this really well, and surprisingly without piling on the fat. It still feels like a treat being able to eat a vegan creamy pasta dish.

I go for the higher protein dishes as they fit my sports nutrition needs but if you’re not fussed about your macros then the choice is even greater. If I need more protein with a dish I usually top up with some tofu. I always buy the two-portion packs as it’s more economical and I have half for dinner and half for lunch the next day.

Even though it’s a subscription service, the delivery dates are completely flexible so you’re never tied in with a monthly order on set days. I can change my delivery dates to push them forward or back as much as I like, and that flexibility is great. I also love the bright, bold box designs that always cheer up my freezer :)

The packaging is all recyclable but allplants also offers pre-paid return labels for the box, which is amazing. The protective layers inside are made from recycled materials.

Give it a go and let me know if you do! Drop me a line if you want to find out more @yanarfitness.
